IT'S CASHEW'S WORLD

Meet the Real Pets Behind It’s Cashew’s World

Meet the Real Pets Behind It’s Cashew’s World

Every character in It’s Cashew’s World started somewhere very real — in our home.

Before there were colouring books, stories and adventures, there were simply three very different pets: Cashew, Miss Winter and Possum.

They have their own personalities, their own funny little habits and very definite opinions about how life in our house should work.

And somewhere along the way, we realised their everyday adventures were becoming stories.

So we’d love you to meet the real animals behind It’s Cashew’s World.

🐾 Meet Cashew

The real pup behind the adventures

Cashew is the heart of our little world.

He’s a young cocker spaniel with long floppy ears, a freckled face and an enormous amount of enthusiasm for absolutely everything.

He’s affectionate, gentle, loyal and always wants to be wherever the family is.

He’s also still figuring a few things out.

Cashew can slide spectacularly across tiled floors, get a little too excited about food, discover the biggest stick he can possibly carry and turn the most ordinary trip outside into an adventure.

He doesn’t mean to cause chaos.

It just seems to find him.

That’s exactly what makes Cashew such a wonderful character for children. He’s curious, enthusiastic and still learning about the world around him.

Cashew in three words:
Happy. Loyal. Enthusiastic.

🐾 Meet Miss Winter

The curious little explorer

Then there’s Miss Winter.

Our beautiful black cat is curious, adventurous and just a little bit cheeky.

If there’s something happening, Winter wants to know about it. If there’s somewhere she’s probably not supposed to go, she’d quite like to investigate that too.

She’s been known to hide under the couch and swipe playfully at Cashew as he walks past, steal slippers, investigate wardrobes and find herself in places nobody expected her to be.

But underneath all that mischief is an incredibly affectionate little cat.

She loves a cuddle, loves being involved and has become Cashew’s partner in adventure.

If Cashew is wondering whether something is a good idea, there’s a reasonable chance Winter has already tried it.

Miss Winter in three words:
Curious. Cheeky. Affectionate.

🐾 Meet Possum

The Queen of the House

And finally, we have Possum.

Possum is the eldest of our three and, as far as she’s concerned, the Queen of the House.

Everybody else simply lives there.

She’s beautiful, elegant and affectionate — entirely on her own terms.

Possum likes things done properly. She knows what she likes, knows what she doesn’t like and has absolutely no problem letting Cashew and Winter know when they’ve crossed the line.

Sometimes all it takes is a look.

Sometimes there’s a hiss.

And occasionally, a paw may need to come up.

But beneath her slightly sassy exterior, Possum is loving, loyal and very much part of the family.

Possum in three words:
Elegant. Sassy. Loving.

From Real Life to Cashew’s World

One of the things we wanted to keep when creating It’s Cashew’s World was the personalities of the real animals.

Cashew isn’t a perfectly behaved storybook puppy.

He’s Cashew.

He’s loving and gentle, but sometimes his enthusiasm gets ahead of his judgement.

Winter isn’t the naughty cat in the story. She’s curious and brave and can’t resist finding out what’s happening.

And Possum isn’t grumpy. She simply has boundaries — and expects everyone else to respect them!

Those differences are what make their relationship so much fun.

The Adventures Really Happened... Well, Mostly!

Many of the moments you’ll discover in Cashew’s world begin with something that’s actually happened.

Cashew really does love finding sticks.

He really does get extremely excited about food.

Winter really does hide and surprise him.

And Possum really does watch the chaos unfolding with the expression of someone wondering how these two ended up living in her house.

We simply take those little moments and ask:

“What if this became an adventure?”

Why We Wanted Children to Meet the Real Animals

Children have an incredible connection with animals.

They notice their personalities, laugh at their funny habits and often understand far more about their feelings than adults give them credit for.

That’s why we didn’t want Cashew, Winter and Possum to simply be made-up characters.

When your child colours a picture of Cashew or follows one of his adventures, there’s a real floppy-eared puppy behind that character.

There’s a real Miss Winter planning her next adventure.

And there’s a very real Possum somewhere nearby wondering what everybody is doing.

And This Is Only the Beginning 🐾

There are plenty more real-life moments still waiting to become Cashew adventures.

Follow Cashew, Miss Winter and Possum as their world grows through stories, colouring, activities and plenty more adventures.
